Return of my childhood favorite!
I am totally enthralled with the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica series. Ron Moore has done a super awesome job of reworking the series. I can't wait for the Season 1 DVD to be released in the states.
Side note: I have been a Star Wars fan for just as long, yet BSG has always had a nice cozy place in my heart. It's such the underdog when it comes to SciFi. That's what makes it so appealing. Everyone can jump on the Star Wars bandwagon and buy up all of the crappy merchandising, where as it is harder to do with BSG due to the lack of merchandising. I feel it makes the series pure and less cluttered. You get to focus on the story and characters instead of which action figure you want to get next. Granted, I wouldn't mind having a 12-inch action figure of Number-6, but what hot blooded SciFi snob wouldn't.
BTW: I'm a SciFi snob... Not a SciFi geek or dork. Just a plain ol' snob. A complete S.O.B. stick my nose up at you SciFi fan. Meaning I don't wear costumes, I don't write fan fiction, I don't buy 200 action figures then encase them in plastic and hang 'em on my wall, and I don't go to conventions unless there is a damn well good reason to. My SciFi friends hate me. :)
